This brief involved choosing a community that is under-represented in graphic design and exploring ways to resolve this through methods of activism and design.

 

Catford, located in South-East London, is one of the very few areas in London yet to undergo regeneration. From what we know about the impacts of gentrification in other London communities and how this affects local people, my project addresses these consequences by creating a means of engaging the community in Catford with the realities of gentrification  

 

In response to this, I created a projection series that provides information about the increase in housing and rental prices in Catford as a result of the ongoing regeneration program. These projections also highlight the voices of local people and their opinions regarding changes in the community.
